Week 2 of School-B Week!

We had a great second week of school.

Our first Bb day consisted of talking about BEARS! Each student had a bear and we took them to the doctor for a check-up. They were weighed, measured and then had a parade. We learned the story of Goldilocks and the 3 bears and made some puppets to go along with them. After that, we talked about what real bears do. What they eat, how they hibernate all winter and we looked at books about real bears. We also did an art project with a big bear that each student glued on their own. We are learning the techniques to use when using glue.

Our second Bb day we talked all about our bodies! This time, it was the children who were weighed, measured, eye and hair color all taken and recorded. We talked a lot about our bodies and the different layers of our bodies. Our skin, bones, muscles, veins, brains...just about how incredible our bodies are and how we grow. We worked on Bb papers and sound that B makes.
(Bb is for Bubba Bear....buh, buh, buh) Ask your kids to teach you the zoo phonics sound and sign for each letter! We also assembled silly bodies. From magazines, the children made people by piecing together eyes, noses, mouths and then shirts and pants. They were all shapes and sizes and they turned out just perfect!

Then to top of our bodies day we had The BACKYARD OLYMPICS!!! It was so much fun! We had Frisbee throw, ball toss, running races, and long jump. Each competitor earned themselves a gold medal. We had a great week!

Jill-
Your pre-school sounds amazing; I'm trying to figure out how to justify sending my boys to you next year (should we actually end up in Idaho). I'd love some more details about your program (ages, hours, cost, and approx. commute time from Shelley). Here's my e-mail when you get some time, send me some info. Thanks. Kara
