Mm Week Activities

We have had such a fun week! I love when my plans go as well in action as they do in my head.

Music and Manners:
For our manners theme, we made "Miss Bee Polite"-a little bumble bee who reminds us to always use our manners. We played a game and did role play to practice our good manners while on the phone, playing with friends, at the dinner table and just everyday life. We also read some books on manners. For music, we did an activity where the kids got to"draw the music". They had a large piece of construction paper. On the first side, they drew while listening to Mozart. Very slow and smooth. On the back side, they drew to a song from the movie, "Cars". Very fast and choppy. It was so fun to see the difference that the music made in how they felt and how the drew!

Animals in Winter and The Mitten:
I wore the kids hands out with cutting today! We read the book, "The Mitten", by Jan Brett. We then laced a mitten and colored and cut out all of the animals that go inside. We retold the story of the mitten using our mitten and animals. Then, we did an "Animals in Winter" booklet. We talked about the different ways animals live in winter. Some are active, some migrate, some hibernate, and some store food away. Ask your child what these words mean! They were so involved that they did not bring them home! They will come home next preschool session.

We also learned the song: 5 Little Ducks
They LOVED it!
