I need to be better about posting. So, my preschool resolution is to post more and of course be more organized.
Here is what we did this week at Smart Start Preschool.
The kids were so excited to be back! At least I think it was that. I could've been the leftover sugar high from all of their Christmas and New Year treats. Whatever the case, we had fun.
Mon/Tues: Season of Winter and Snowmen
We made a snowman with the bottom being a snowflake. We also did a "foil scene" picture. They both turned out really cute. (Watch for pictures later.) We also are learning 3 new winter poems and song. I will post those as a sidebar so that you mom's can help you child remember them at home. We talked about winter and what happens outside and how we have to dress warm. We did a sequencing activity where we put in sequence someone getting dressed to go outside and play.
Wed/Thurs: Color White and Letter Review
We did a super fun art activity today. It is a snowman made of a shaving cream/glue paint topped off with white glitter sprinkles, a carrot nose and button eyes. It dries puffy. If you want the recipe for the paint, just comment. The kids LOVED painting with it. I also made some crystals from Epsom salt and water. We talked about freezing and how the crystals form outside when it freezes. They were surprised that the crystals were not cold! We also reviewed our letters with a new flip book that I made for each child. These won't be coming home quite yet, but watch for them in the coming weeks. A fun snowflake activity rounded out our day!
If you are reading the blog, please comment so I know! :)
Happy New Year!
