The kids mostly seemed really excited to be back into the swing of things. And as much fun as December is, making gifts and crafts etc., it is also nice to get back into the learning portion of school!
We had a great week. The first day we talked about the Season of Winter and reviewed our letters A-L, as well as learned all of the rest of the zoo phonics letter sounds. Your child now has learned the letters A-Z! We will keep reviewing them. If you would like a copy of the words and signs we use for each letter to review with your child, let me know and I will send one home with them. I loved making our winter scene pictures with the foil. They turned out so cute!
Day two we talked all about snowmen. We baked a cake for our special snack and the kids loved watching/helping me get it all ready to bake and loved eating it even more! We talked about sequencing as well. Their favorite activity of the day was making a "puffy" snowman out of glue and shaving cream! They will come home next week. It is a super fun and messy activity that makes a very cute little puffy snowman!
We are learning some new January poems and songs as well. Check the sidebar to see them.
On to 2010!! Can't wait to keep on learning!

I love that you put the poems on the side bar. Kleyn was trying to say them to me and he would forget one line and have to start over. It was nice to know what he was trying to say. :) I would love a copy of the words and signs. Thanks so much for all you do!
I would love a copy of the zoo phonics, I hear the favorites a lot but when i ask random letters I don't always get an answer :)
You have such great ideas! So creative
I would also love a copy of the zoo phonics letter sounds. Parker has had a great week coming again. Thanks for the support and reinforcement--and the whoppers! Hopefully this "happy boy" stays with us! :) Thanks for sharing your talent and love of teaching with us!
