Uu and Tt wrap-up.

I hope you all had a great spring break and feel rested and ready to tackle this last few weeks of school. I can't believe how quickly time is going by.

Our Uu week was so much fun. We talked about all things "Under the Sea" and learned about the Ocean and all of the creatures, living and non-living, that live there. We also painted and colored lots of ocean animals for our mural, which will be hanging in the garage on display as of Monday. We also talked about the letter Uu. The sound for Uu is one of the most often confused. Our Zoo phonics animal is Umber Umbrella bird and we hold an umbrella with one hand and fly up with the other. Practice this with your kids if they are having a hard time remembering that Uu says.

A long spring break later we talked about the letter Tt and Transportation. Once the kids found out what transportation meant, we had a great discussion about ways that we get around. A couple of my favorites were rollerskates and scooters. We were able to go to the drive-in and watch a fun movie and have some popcorn and treats. Definitely a highlight for the kids.
We also talked about April showers and how April is well known for rain. (Little did I know we would have a snow day in the midst of our rainy studies!) We made an umbrella and painted raindrops with our thumbs.
We also started learning a few more new songs as we are getting closer and closer to our graduation and singalong.
Stay tuned for more updates as our month progresses! It's going to fly by!
