What a fun week of talking about pirates!!
Although your kids didn't bring much home to show for our week, we had a really fun week of talking about Xx Marks the spot and learning about pirates.We read a few different pirate books, including two of my favorites, "How I became a Pirate", and "Pirates Don't Change Diapers" both by Melinda Long. Your kids may be talking about Jeremy Jacob. They are darling books and I love them both!! We played "Pirate Bingo" better known as "Matey" to reinforce their A-B-C's.
On day two we learned another really fun pirate song and book. The lyrics to the chorus go:
"Oh we go this way, that way, portside, starboard, over the stormy sea. This way, that way, portside, starboard, over the stormy sea." They may be singing that song too.
The kids got to design their own pirate pictures/maps and they did a great job. They earned their pirate eye-patches and also got to hunt for and find the pirate treasure in my house. They eventually found their treasure box full of silver and gold!! Again-what a super week!!

SUPER CUTE!! Cooper has been singing that pirate song all day! he had so much fun! thanks! and you must have shown them how to do a great pirate face and captured coop's good!
