We started our Ee studies by learning about Emotions. We learned some sign language this week-ask your kids to show you the signs for "feelings, excited, silly, scared, grumpy, sick, surprised, and try". If they can't show you, ask again in a couple of weeks. We have a song that goes along with these emotions/feelings and they are getting better and better at singing and signing it. We also talked about how it is okay to feel different emotions, including sadness and anger. We just have to be careful about how to act when we feel those emotions.
Our second Ee lesson on EEeeeek, Spiders!! was fun as well. We learned all about spiders-their body parts, how many legs and eyes and how the spin their webs. (With spinnerettes...did you hear this word?) The kids made their own spider webs as well. I included the cute little book, "Where is Pumpkin" to go along with our pumpkin patch field trip next week. It is a "directionality book"-helping them determine directional words such as above, below, under, behind, etc. They had fun putting it together and I hope you're almost sick of reading it.
Here are our cute kids of the week!
As always-if you have comments, or questions-please let me know. We are thoroughly enjoying October!
