Season of Spring/ My 5 Senses

It seems like the weeks are just flying by!  The weather is turning beautiful and it's hard to keep attention spans for very long.  Springtime brings out a whole new child.  But it's fun.

Our Season of Spring day was spent primarily talking about what happens during the spring. Renewal and regrowth.  We focused a lot on seeds and put together our seed booklet.  I hope it made it home in one piece.  Some of the seeds were very small and fragile!  We also planted some marigolds to bring home.  I hope the children and remembering to take care of their little plants. Keep me posted on how they're growing!
Our 5 senses day was very fun.  We learned a new song (to the tune of Bingo).
I have 5 senses, so do you, and this is what they are.
I can see and hear. I can smell and taste.
Last of all, I can touch and so can you!
They had a 5 senses glove that goes along with the song.  We also made our little touch and feel booklet.  We did some role playing about what sense you would use in different situations.  They did really well at figuring out the best way to learn something new using only one sense at a  time!  We tested their new knowledge out on some chocolate chip muffins. They could use all of their senses except for hearing them.  I could hear some tummies rumbling though-so it's good they got to see, smell, touch and most of all TASTE those muffins!
